Motherhood or Groundhog Day?

Before 10:00am had rolled around I had already cleaned pineapples and pineapple juice off the carpet from Boston's accident, Asher's spit up on me him and the floor, & Dallas' pee accident on the couch and floor from trying to potty train. Oh the life of a mom. As I was cleaning the table, doing dishes and sweeping the floor like I do every night I was thinking that motherhood is in a way like the movie "Groundhog Day". Everyday you do the same things over and over again. Get woken up by the kids, dress everyone and brush their teeth, breakfast, clean up, etc etc etc. And sometimes I just don't want to wash the dishes, bath the children or do the laundry. But motherhood isn't just about doing the same things everyday. It's much better than that. You get a hug from your son, the sweetest smile across the table, a thank you just for changing their diaper. You get to play make believe, arts and crafts and sing songs and dance around the living room. Someone that looks at you like you hung the moon. You are the person you always wanted to be in their eyes. And that makes all the mundane things worth while. That's when these days everyone says you will look back on as the best actually "feel" like the best!
